Two leading real estate players, Frasers Property and Sekisui House, have announced their plans to redevelop Robertson Walk and Fraser Place Robertson. The joint project will transform the properties, currently held under a 999-year lease by Frasers Property, into a modern mixed-use development.
When exploring potential condo investments in Singapore, one crucial factor to keep in mind is the government’s property cooling measures. Singapore’s government has implemented several measures over the years to control speculative purchasing and maintain a steady real estate market. One such measure is the Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty (ABSD), which imposes higher taxes on foreign buyers and those purchasing multiple properties. While these measures may impact the immediate profitability of condo investments, they also contribute to the long-term stability of the market, creating a more secure investment environment. In addition, staying updated on new condo launches can play a crucial role in finding potential investments.
The new development will feature 348 residential units, as well as a variety of food and beverage options and entertainment facilities. The project, expected to commence next year, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2028. With a gross floor area of 30,664 square meters (330,067 square feet), the redeveloped site promises to offer a vibrant and lively atmosphere.
Frasers Property Singapore CEO Soon Su Lin sees the redevelopment project as an opportunity to further the company’s active asset management strategy. She explains that the prime 999-year site in Robertson Quay holds immense potential for returns, and the company is committed to unlocking its highest and best use.
The joint venture between Frasers Property and Sekisui House is based on a 51:49 partnership. Until the operations cease on 31 May 2025, Frasers Property Group will continue to manage Robertson Walk and Fraser Place Robertson. The partnership aims to create a sustainable and modern development that meets the evolving needs of the community.
